Animated picture of Rasheeda

An experienced corporate executive turned entrepreneur, Rasheeda Creighton has always taken the road less traveled. During her 15 year corporate career at a Fortune 100 company, she leveraged her law degree to move from negotiating technology contracts to overseeing significant business relationships with large corporations and small businesses alike. During that time, Rasheeda developed a strong business acumen for solving complex problems using innovative solutions. In 2018, Rasheeda used her experience to help design, develop, launch and ultimately oversee the 1717 Innovation Center, a first-of-its-kind community space in Richmond, Virginia designed to support community organizations and entrepreneurs in the Richmond area.  Through this work, she learned and honed her expertise in understanding the impact space design can have on operations, and further developed a passion for using her skills to support community focused organizations and entrepreneurs.

In 2020 (pre-pandemic), inspired by a sense of purpose leading her down a new path, Rasheeda harnessed her skills and passions into a convergence of business ventures that all work towards a singular path: creating and holding spaces that connect people, particularly Black and Brown people, to opportunities for growth and wealth building, ultimately leading to a path of financial freedom.

Rasheeda is co-founder and Executive Director of the JWC Foundation (JWC), a 501(c)(3) organization that leverages its collective networks, resources and information to build sustainable Black owned businesses. She is also founder of Killing Superwoman®, a company that utilizes personal financial coaching to help other women forge paths of financial freedom, which Rasheeda defines as the game-changing ability to “make decisions—large and small—-based on values, interests and priorities, not on the need to pay bills.”

Rasheeda earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English from Spelman College and holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School. She is an active community leader in Richmond, Virginia, having served or currently serving on a number of boards in the area, including FRIENDS Association for Children, Leadership Metro Richmond, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond, Virginia Council on Economic Education, the Virginia Cannabis Control Authority, and The Jenkins Foundation. Of the many hats Rasheeda wears, her favorite is being mom to Zoe and bonus mom to Akilah and Saván.
